What's JT Doing now?

I promised myself I would blog important things and milestones in JT's life so I could refer back to them with the next kid and the next...and the next and the next. Hehehehe!!! *Side note: I still say 5 kids...Shawn says 3 MAX. We'll just have to wait and see!* Ok, so this blog post may not be very amusing to my followers...this one is more for me, so I apologize if you're already yawning. ;-)

Pulling up on everything! Still not standing
on his own yet, though.

During JT's 9th month, he started doing a whole lot more. He has started saying different words like dog, duck and bird, and he recognizes them, too...I think. Hahaha! He is getting really good at waving and saying "bye," and he points a lot now.

JT pointing at a bird or something...

JT is crawling around so fast now, and he seems to be after shoes ALL THE TIME! He also LOVES hats. He will try to pull one off your head every time! JT likes to mess with trash cans, the toilet, toilet paper, remotes, magazines (anything on the coffee table) and other things he's not supposed to mess with. He'd rather play with anything but his own toys. He is also venturing out in his diet. He had his first ham and cheese and PB&J sandwiches last week, and he also had spaghetti for the first time!

Spaghetti night! Yay!!!

We let him try almost everything we eat as long as it's mushy enough or it dissolves in his mouth. His first "real" meal was black eyed peas and cornbread, and buddy...he tore it up! He's a country boy for sure :-) He's also had lasagna, mac n cheese, animal crackers, Cheerios...he LOVES food. But all of a sudden in the last couple days, he refuses to eat veggies. It doesn't matter if they're cold, hot, mashed up, whole, out of a jar, in a bowl, with a fork, with a spoon....he will not eat them! But if we give him fruit, he eats it right up. And he downs his milk...I pray he's not a veggie hater. He's always loved veggies until now. :-( Gotta' figure out how to fix that...

My favorite thing that JT is doing now is giving "sugars" when we ask for them. Which is all the time! He is the best sugar-giver ever!

Giving sugars to his girlfriend, Harper!

It's been 10 months already?!?!?!

Yup, that's right. Our little man turned 10 months old yesterday, which means in less than 2 months we'll be celebrating his 1st birthday! How exciting!!!

Our happy little 10-month-old!

I've already booked Country Pumpkins (pumpkin patch) in Caledonia, and I've been surfing the Web like a mad woman looking for ideas for decorations, food, outfits, photo ops, etc. Is this normal??? I kind of feel crazy. I mean, I know lots of moms who go ALL OUT for their baby's 1st birthday, and I swore I wouldn't, and I won't because (I can't afford to) I don't have the gift of throwing a fabulous party. Seriously, I had a little "diapers and wipes" baby shower at my house last night for a precious girl in my Life Group, and I totally didn't set out forks! I was wondering why nobody was eating...they were just holding their plates of food. DUH!

MSU Fan Day 2011

Today we took a trip to God's Country (aka Starkville, Mississippi) for MSU Fan Day, and we had so much fun! We took JT with us, and he got to meet and take pictures with lots of people...he loved it! Our sweet friend, Amanda, came with us, too, and we introduced her to City Bagel for lunch. YUMMY! I'll let the pictures tell you about our day...

I was so glad that JT was not afraid of Bully :-)

Daddy's idea...Hahahaha! JT was so excited.

Future linebacker!!!

My two favorite Bulldog fans...ever.

This sweet girl, Ella, made friends with JT. She just walked right over and started playing with him. And then she bit his hand. And then she pinched his foot. OUCH! I guess she was flirting. JT was not amused. Hahaha! I thought it was cute. :-) JT still has the mark on his hand. Battle wound!

JT and Ella!

Dan the Man!!!

Had to get a shot with the Egg Bowl trophy and the real
Bully! JT kept trying to play with him. He LOVES dogs!

It wouldn't be right if I didn't include this picture.
It tastes just as good as it looks...City Bagel is my FAVE!

"Fun day Sunday"

Around the Stone house, Sunday is a great family day! We love starting our day off with our Mt. Vernon Church family, and then coming home and hanging out!

JT helped Daddy back up the truck...

and he's such a good driver ;-)

He helped Mommy in the kitchen, too...

and he was great help preparing dinner!

Look at me, I'm walking!

Ok, so he didn't really walk...on his own. He pulled up on his play table and started pushing it across the living room floor! So, technically he was walking, but with help. :-)

He was so proud of himself!!!

I believe he learned a few things during his play date with his sweet friend, Maddy, earlier that morning! I'm sure he saw her pulling up and standing up a lot, so he thought he needed to do it, too.

He had so much fun playing today!!!

Yay for sweet friends and fun times!

Got Milk?

JT had his 9-month check-up today, and I must say, it was one of the best ones to date! Lots of good news, but the most exciting news of all??? We can start JT on regular milk and table food now...no more (expensive) formula!!! Woop-woop! Doc says he just got back from a pediatric conference/meeting, and he learned lots of new things about new guidelines for feeding a baby. So glad he shared what he learned...we are way excited!

First thing when we got home...ate a cracker!
And JT loved it! He did so good...no choking!

As a first-time mom, you hear lots of different things like, "Don't feed your baby cow's milk or table food until they're 1," and "No solid food until they're 6 months old...anything earlier than that can lead to childhood obesity." BLAH BLAH BLAH! I'm going with Dr. Ski. "Give the boy some (2%) milk, and relax, mom. He's healthy and looks great...now stop worrying!" He did have to specify 2% because JT does not need whole milk. Hahaha! We ♥ Dr. Ski!

John Thomas is getting to be such a big boy. He weighed in at 23 lbs. 10 oz. and he is 29 inches long. His head measured 18 1/2 inches...he's got a big ol' head! When we checked out, I almost cried when the lady said, "So we need to set up his next appointment...his 12-month check-up." I said, "Oh my gosh...already???" I guess that means it's time for another baby. ;-) I mean, JT will be driving before we know it.

Driving Daddy's truck (not really)

We are really enjoying our 9-month-old baby boy. He is so much fun! His newest thing is he's giving "sugars" (or kisses) and it's the sweetest thing EVER.

JT giving Daddy some "sugars"...he loves his Daddy!

We are so blessed with a healthy baby, and we are grateful beyond words. Thank you Lord for our precious JT! He's such a joy...

It won't be long before JT crawls into and overtakes our bed!
I can't wait :-)

Movin' on up!

John Thomas graduated today from the Bed Babies Room to the Crawlers room in Discovery Zone at church. This boy is crawling all over the place! We are excited about him movin' on up, but it's kinda' bittersweet...does this mean he's not a baby anymore???

Graduation Day in Discovery Zone

Really and truly, Shawn and I were pretty excited about JT moving up, and he was really excited, too. I just felt guilty for not feeling sad, so I staged the above picture. I mean, I really felt like a terrible mother for not being sad about it! I know, I'm a dork.

This is how we really felt...HAPPY!

"Am I really going in there, Daddy?"

I'm happy to report that JT did great in his new classroom. He crawled and crawled and crawled...and showed off a bit, too. He's so proud of his new achievement :-) We are, too!

Attack of the Stomach Virus...UGH!

So...The Stone residence had a not-so-welcome visitor, or shall I say "INTRUDER," yesterday. Our entire Sunday afternoon/evening/night was overtaken by this nasty thing called the STOMACH VIRUS...yup! Shawn, JT and I were all victims. It. Was. Not. Fun. But, it was nice having Daddy home today as we all recuperated from the evil ways of this intruder. We are SO thankful it's gone! I pray that NEVER happens again...it's just not right for all three of us to be sick at the same time.

The only bright side to being sick...lots of down time!
There was a lot of cuddling, snuggling and lounging today.

Poor lil' guy! You can see it in his eyes...
he just does not feel good.
